Dora the Explorer commercials

I’ve recently shot a handful of television advertisements for the 10th anniversary of the Nickelodeon show Dora the Explorer. It’s been an amazing experience working with the Nick crew (Liza, Mary, Chad, Tiffany, and Jessica) and visiting some excellent locations. We scouted a new location last week and I wept with joy at how cool my job is… that one shoots next week and will be up here soon.

I’ve been shooting using the new Canon 1D Mark IV to shoot both video and stills. The stills are being shot in burst mode at 10 frames a second… it makes a really nice sound when you hear the shutter going that fast… it too will being tears to your face.

I’ve been in the tech zone learning about VLC bit rates/mpeg Streamclip/Handbrake and other video editing stuff in order to post these… when I hear the word codec it usually brings tears to my face but I’m all better now. Here’s the first one (double click to start it/space bar to stop):
